FPÖ – Kaniak criticizes hasty amendment to MTD professions

The amendment to the professional law for the advanced medical-therapeutic-diagnostic health professions has been criticized by the FPÖ as inconsistent, unsystematic and incomplete. The government is accused of neglecting the proper design of the job profiles due to short-term political goals. A revision of these professions has been called for for over 32 years, but has now been inadequately implemented without taking appropriate criticisms into account.

The amendment is described as a "hasty product" that creates uncertainty and is of no use to those affected or the health system. Criticism is expressed in particular at the lack of courage to create a clear legislative framework for existing competencies. It is noted that in many areas people are not allowed to act without a doctor's order, even though they have the necessary professional skills.

Instead, the FPÖ health spokesman is calling for a solid, well-thought-out and future-oriented law that will benefit the affected professional groups and the health system as a whole. A referral motion has been made to work out a better solution and reconsider the law. The rejection of this motion by the governing parties is being interpreted as a tactical maneuver shortly before the National Council elections to make political small change and not to have the well-being of those affected in mind.
