Vienna (OTS) - The residents around the Oberlaa spa park are being terrorized by a road runner scene. This was confirmed by VP City Councilor Karl Mahrer, who was contacted by concerned citizens. The residents of Filmteichstrasse and the surrounding streets have been harassed by groups of aggressive road runners for some time. In addition to insults and threats, violent confrontations are becoming increasingly common. The incidents mainly take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 5 p.m.
According to reports, the young people, often of migrant background, not only threatened or insulted residents personally, but also threw eggs at windows. Verbal battles between residents and the rioting youths make it clear that the situation has now gone beyond the usual "road runner scene".
Due to the worrying situation, Karl Mahrer, who himself used to be the Vice President of Police in Vienna, has called for joint operations by the police and the city administration. He understands the concerns of the affected residents and is committed to rapid and effective measures. In this context, he has already held talks with Federal Police Director Michael Takacs, Police President Dr. Gerhard Pürstl and the city administration to encourage urgent joint operations.
The Vienna People's Party will review the effectiveness of the measures and act according to the principle of "Look instead of looking away and solve problems".
