Attractive rail transport: Deutschlandtakt and EU reform in focus

The Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV) recently made it clear in a tweet that the German Rail transport more attractive and implement more efficient cross-border capacity management. Minister Volker Wissing stressed how important it is that the Deutschlandtakt remains possible in line with the new European legislation.

Deutschlandtakt as a central pillar

The Deutschlandtakt, a central project to improve the punctuality and reliability of German rail traffic, provides for a timetable structure that enables seamless coordination of train connections. The program is intended to optimize not only national but also international rail connections and is therefore in the focus the current efforts of the BMDV.
