Summer work schedules and unconventional vacation decisions of cabinet members

New holiday plans of the politicians of Rhineland-Palatinate

The summer holidays are just around the corner, but for the politicians of Rhineland-Palatinate, vacation plans look different than expected. While some ministers are looking forward to relaxing days, others have changed their vacations due to new responsibilities.

The new Prime Minister Alexander Schweitzer plans to use most of his vacation for internal administrative tasks. Instead of attending public events, he will concentrate on reviewing documents and hopes to also be able to spend time with his family.

The new Minister of Social Affairs, Dorothee Schall, has decided to take "short breaks" with her family instead of embarking on a longer trip. Her focus is on familiarizing herself with the issues of her department and spending time in the country.

Some ministers already have concrete travel plans. For example, Economics Minister Daniela Schmitt will spend a few days at Lake Garda and in South Tyrol to engage in sporting activities and at the same time maintain work contacts.

Opposition leader Gordon Schneider is also vacationing in the Allgäu and is looking forward to good weather and new discoveries in the region. Other politicians are planning trips to Budapest, Albania, Norway and southern France to relax and get to know new cultures.

Although the holiday plans of the politicians of Rhineland-Palatinate are varied, one thing is clear: even on holiday, people work and take on responsibilities.
