On Saturday, June 15, 2024, TeamSportSachsen published its demands to politicians, in cooperation with Chemnitzer FC and the State Sports Association SaxonyUnder the motto "Sport is added value!" six demands were formulated that call for a more intensive focus on organized sport and clubs in Saxony. These will also be discussed at the upcoming sports summit on June 17 in Dresden.
Sport plays an important role in society. It promotes social cohesion, integration, inclusion and the promotion of young talent. It also relieves the burden on the health and social system through preventive Measures and youth work. Sport conveys values, contributes to internal security and is of great importance for society as a location factor and advertising medium.
Karsten Günther, Chairman of the Board of TeamSportSachsen eV, stresses the importance of a stronger socio-political anchoring of organized sport in the Free State of Saxony. The six demands are aimed at Saxon state politics and are intended to intensify the dialogue with political representatives in order to develop the full potential of sport in the Free State.
